Dementia route
An inclusive route for the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede
For Studio ID+ and the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede, we captured the newly developed dementia-friendly outdoor space and walking route in photography and film. This route is designed to be safe, inviting and accessible for people with dementia – with attention to orientation, resting points and experience in the public space.
Besides atmospheric and documentary photography, we made a short film in which both the alderman and the physiotherapist of QuaRijn speak. They talk about the importance of this route: how it contributes to quality of life, social engagement and exercise and experience opportunities for residents and visitors.
Our visual reportage shows both the physical design of the outdoor space and its human impact. The images and film can be used for communication by the municipality, Studio ID+ and partners – to present, share and continue the project.
