Poeijer Street
Rezoning St. Jozef monastery and new Garden Houses in Tongelre
On the Poeijersstraat in the Eindhoven district of Tongelre stands the impressive St. Jozef monastery, an iconic building with a rich history. Pauwert Architectuur worked with Woonbedrijf, De Loods Architecten and Kruitkok landscape architects on an innovative plan to give the monastery a second life. The result: a redevelopment of the monastery and the realization of modern (garden) homes in the former monastery garden.
This unique project unites history and future. The authentic appearance of the monastery is preserved, while the addition of contemporary housing gives a new dynamic to the area. The design takes into account the historical context and integrates sustainability principles in both the redevelopment and new construction.
We had the privilege of providing architectural and interior photography for both Pauwert Architectuur and De Loods Architecten. With an eye for detail and atmosphere, we captured both the strength of the original monastery and the new designs, doing full justice to the project in images.
This project shows how heritage can be transformed with vision and respect into a living environment for the future. A wonderful example of the convergence of architecture, landscape and interior design.
